flowers are emerging

the beans and peas are growing well. although i probably shouldn't have transplanted them. they really should be planted in a permanent location. the 'carlin soup pea' is struggling the most after the transplant, but it's still doing ok. of the beans, the 'purple fava bean' is monster. it's about 2.5ft tall, by far the tallest. here are some pictures of the beans and peas.

now for the tomatoes. i transplanted them 6 days ago, and they are doing well. the 'green pineapple' is still slightly smaller of the two, but healthy. the 'purple calabash' is doing very well. just over the past few days, flower buds have appeared. i had read that all leaf sets below the first flower truss should be pruned, so i did. the plant looks quite bare, but it is now focusing it's energy into the flowers and not the leaves. hopefully this will provide healthier fruit.
