the tomatoes were growing out of their 4" pots, so i transplanted them into their final 14" containers. i placed the whole plant at the bottom of the empty pots and filled them up with dirt, covering all branches along the way. all the branches and the main stem will all have roots grow from them. this will strengthen the plant and hopefully produce better tomatoes.
and here are the two tomato plants on the shelf under the warm glow of the fluorescent lights.
